All around us, nature reigns supreme. Right in the middle of it lies the charming town of Güstrow. This old seat of royal power on the shores of Lake Inselsee is located in the centre of Mecklenburg and harbours an abundance of stately treasures and exciting destinations. In the historic old town, the Renaissance castle, the cathedral and the market join forces with scores of old town houses and other magnificent buildings to take us on a journey through history and its different style eras. Everywhere you look beyond the town, natural delights abound in the undulating fields, forests and meadows. As soon as you step outside the hostel’s front door you’ll find yourself in the Heidberge nature reserve, and the Müritz National Park is also close by. Background information is available at the Nature and Environmental Park. Non-stop fun is guaranteed here as well as at the Oasis water park. Lake Inselsee offers plenty of scope for exciting water-based activities too. Want to experience all that for yourself?
